Our Cannon's Construction...

The Felloes

Router Jig
Each of the Felloes, which form the outer ring of the wheel, have to be identical.
This is achieved by cutting each section using a specially made router jig.

Ready for Morticing
All the sections have now been sized correctly and are ready for morticing.

Felloes and Knave
Here the Felloes and the Knave have been laid out so that it is possible to
visualise the finished wheel.

Mortices in the Felloes
Two mortices are cut into each felloe using a morticing tool. When complete the tennons at the end of the spokes will fit into these mortices.
